Global industry extracts trillions of litres of water each day with very little ability to recycle and reuse this water. Aquafortus is an innovative technology company poised to disrupt the industry and is at the forefront of research, development, and deployment of high-recovery industrial water remediation technologies. We are currently looking for 2 x Process Chemists to join our Chemistry team. The Process Chemist is primarily the key technical resource to the business development, engineering, and chemistry teams by actively driving and managing the technology evaluation and ensuring commercial success. The Process Chemist collaborates with the Research and Development Chemists and the Chemical Process Engineers to ensure the application of laboratory work to the engineering process.


This is primarily a lab-based role accountable for performing research and process chemistry experiments. The process chemists also ensure that the company's novel chemical products and processes are commercially viable. This includes assisting in the development of new processes and technologies to advance the company's success. The Process Chemist reports to the Chief Technical Officer and the relevant Team Leader.



POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science and/or Masters in Chemistry with 2 years' experience in a commercial laboratory.
  • Experience working with chemical processes and a variety of laboratory instruments.
  • Ability to follow chemistry methods and write them.
  • An R&D application focus.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Team player with a positive attitude that can put the team ahead of self-interest.
  • Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Competent in Microsoft office suite.
  • Good time management and organisation skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English for the preparation and presentation of reports.
