We are currently looking for a Process Chemist Team Leader to join our management team. You and your team will be the key technical resource to the business development, engineering, and chemistry teams by actively driving and managing the technology evaluation and ensuring commercial success. You will not only be managing a team of highly talented chemists, but you will also ensure that the company's novel chemical products and processes are commercially viable. This includes assisting in the development of new processes and technologies to advance the company's success.
This is a full-time lab-based role accountable for performing research and process chemistry experiments. The Process Chemistry Team collaborates with the Research and Development Chemists and the Chemical Process Engineers to ensure the application of laboratory work to the engineering process. The Process Chemistry Team Leader reports to the Chief Technical Officer and the other executives.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- PhD and/or Masters in Chemistry with 5+ years' experience in a commercial laboratory.
- Experience in successfully leading teams of more than 3 team members in a relevant or closely related field.
- Experience working with chemical processes and a variety of laboratory instruments.
- Ability to follow chemistry methods and write them.
- An R&D application focus.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Team player with a positive attitude that can put the team ahead of self-interest.
- Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Competent in Microsoft office suite.
- Good time management and organisation skills.
- High level of professionalism, including when interacting with staff.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English for the preparation and presentation of reports.
