We are currently looking for an Analytical Chemist Team leader to join our management team. You will be responsible for all analytical instruments within the laboratory for the purpose of advancing the company's technological and commercial success. You will not only be managing a team of highly talented chemists, you will also be working alongside the Research and Development Chemists to develop new methods for the analytical instruments to aid research experiments as well as for the quantification of any new chemical developments.
This is a full-time lab-based role accountable for ensuring quality control within the laboratory, method development & improvement, maintenance of laboratory equipment, instrument procurement, instrument troubleshooting, and instrument knowledge transfer. The Analytical Chemistry Team Leader reports to the Chief Technical Officer and the other executives.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Masters or PhD in Analytical Chemistry with 5+ years' experience as an Analytical Chemist.
- Experience in successfully leading teams of more than 3 team members in a relevant or closely related field.
- Experience in method development for analytical instruments and the ability to write protocols and methods for teammates to follow.
- Ability to follow chemistry methods.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Team player with a positive attitude that can put the team ahead of self-interest.
- Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Competent in Microsoft office suite.
- Good time management and organisation skills.
- High level of professionalism, including when interacting with staff.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English for the preparation and presentation of reports.
